Account Security: Be careful when visiting certain pages - scam sites spreading

Greetings,

Currently there are links promoting scam sites on various platforms (Facebook for example) and ingame which offer bots and Kinah for AION.

Please be careful and do not visit the site as by only visiting the page you can get keyloggers.
We have visited those sites on a virtual OS and directly received several keyloggers without downloading anything.

We are taking care of such sites already.

A tip from our side:
If you use a very old password (older than 6 month for example), one that you used ages ago on NC services, we recommend to change your password as soon as possible and update it (to even a more secure one).
  • Atleast have a password being 8 characters long
  • Atleast 1 number should be contained in the password
  • Atleast 1 character in upper case should be contained in the password
  • Atleast 1 special character.
Not all of these need to be fulfilled but if you want to improve your own personal account password, this should help a bit. Changing your password regularly will improve your account security additionally.

We are still working on improving our account management accordingly however in the meantime.

We've received a lot of reports about players receiving strange e-mails to verify accounts.
Be careful with scammer e-mails.
The official EU website is aionfreetoplay.com. Nothing else.
Try not to click on the URLs mentioned in the mails. Do not enter your login data.
The domain behind the URL is not an official domain from us or AION NA! Take a closer look on the URL (hover over the URL to see the URL tooltip for example).

A subtle bump from my side:

We've received a lot of mails and tickets concerning hijacked ("hacked") accounts in the past 2 weeks.

I received personal messages about hijacked accounts as well. My private account was also
affected by a hijack a week ago.

Something that a large portion of the accounts have in common however is that they are old NC accounts which still have old NC passwords.

I strongly recommend everyone to change their old NC password to a new and more secure one (see above in second post ).
