This is a purely marketing oriented decision, the advertisement banners sound much better when you say "Aion 6.2 new update! 2 New Servers!!!"

Exactly.

If they get a few hundred people buying gold packs the first 3-4 months and 10 or 20 spending 2keuro on the transforms then its all worth it for them (even if they have to merge on 6 months time)

Anything from there is a bonus

If they can milk more money, nothing else matters
