    • If this is all regarding crafting changes, then it's meh....
I had hoped for an adjustment of the needed material amount or as was mentioned in a post regarding aether, that you can morph now a higher amount of mats...

      aionpowerbook.com/powerbook/5.1_PTS_Patchnotes

      2. Potion items have been simplified.
      - Progress and Attendance potions have been changed.
      - Life/Mana serums have been changed.
      - Life/Mana potions can no longer be obtained.
      - New recovery items have been added.
    • Yes, some nice things added but crafting in general has not moved much for a long time.

Not really sure how to word this but it feels like... what you can craft is moving forward but the gathering of materials needed is moving backwards.

yes, I was hoping for some new morph designs for 499 materials too. Morph from ancient aether.

Many of the old designs use the equivilant amount of white grade to make them but do not take into account that it will take longer to the them. Especially the 499 level materials.

reducing the potions I like, my inventory will love this.

Will wait for new patch and see what it brings

in 5.0 you can buy 499 gather mats from an npc.
      in 5.x ^^
just checked na, havent found the npc for it in the new map. maybe its on another one or in a later patch.

    • Can you guys please advice which profession might be most profitable in 5.0+?

I took a long break from the game but recently came back, currently leveling alchemy - 450 skill. Wondering whether it's worth it to level alchemy to Master? Or maybe Cooking to Master?

And any info which professions will craft the mount and wings? :)
    • In the links Evita posted it shows that in 5.1 there will be a new crafting system for High Daevas (character level 66 - 75) It does not mention any changes to the normal existing crafting system for players under level 66.

My understanding is that the new system will not be tied to any particular profession. All people that reach High Daeva status can craft any of the High Daeva designs. I am sure Evita can correct anything I get wrong here.

Difficult to say what would be better, alchemy or cooking, guess it would depend on what is needed more in your broker. Look at some of the level 500 things in both crafts and see if there is something there you really want to make. While levelling I guess people will need things from both. Scrolls, food, DP jelly, potions etc. If I was so close to master already in alchemy I would just stay with that. If you change your mind later you can dump your alchemy master and master on something else.

    • good morning

      according to azsus tumblr:
"- Craft products are strictly High Daeva items only. Anything below that tier, you would still have to utilize the present crafting system"

so you still have the old crafting as well in place

      what I would do:
if you don't necessarily want to go for the 500+ alchemy designs and are more interested in running, attack/cast-speed scrolls, go till 499 max with alchemy and go for cooking, as the best cooking designs are 500+ whereas there is no difference in the run/speed scrolls

If you want to go also for best crit and elemental scrolls, aswell as best pots, you might want to go for alchemy as master

(for me it's easy, I took cooking on my glad and alch on my sorc - if you have a 2nd char just level cooking there then)

hope that helps in your decision
    • is it sure that those "high daeva" designs are not affected by any means by the previously learned design
      what i mean for example:
random leather hat craft X form high daeva craft - can i craft that if for example have only alchemy leveled up previously?

Well I looked through the recipes and there are very interesting things I'd want to make in all professions :) But of course it's impossible with one char.

I think I will get alchemy to 500 and see how it goes. If it doesn't sell well I will dump it and level Cooking to 500. No way to know without experimenting.

You mean that no matter what craft you have levelled you can do something completely different with high daeva? don't know right now, I will see that I get that answer cause I am not quite sure how this is to be understood

"- As mentioned earlier, your skill levels apply universally to all types of crafts in the new system. 100% success rates are only applied when you craft at the item’s recommended level, proc rates however, are still subjective to RNG"

does that mean if you have one craft on 534 you can do whatever high daeva craft? interesting question
    • The 5.1 update that tells us about the new Magic Production system (crafting for high daevas) simply states

Most of the designs will be available in a special crafting (magic production) window, so many of the designs you will not have to buy.
High daevas can make a design if they have the necessary crafting skill level (Magic Production) for the design
Designs start at skill level 1

No mention of needing to have any other craft experience in any existing crafts that we have just now.
Looking at the designs in the Aion Power book there is no reference there to any previous craft type or level required. Just a skill level required in the new Magic Production crafting system.
    • Hello Daeva

If you mean the morph designs

f.e. the wings, the potions etc... those can be morphed into better versions
but for food and potions you still need the old versions because those are morphed into new versions

(btw you buy those designs for ancient coins)

    • Magic Production/Magical Crafting 5.1

      Heya o/ !

I am interested in magic production that comes in next patch that will cover prettty much what normal crafts used to, dedicated +66 lvl items.

ATM I am gathering items like spirit stone of light, eternity, spirit stones yellow, orange and purple, all manastones only at +1 if bought from broker (for shake of leveling), enchanting dust witouth turn it into enchanting stones (you can later turn it into stones and disenchant again to redo the process, but is way higher waste than buying +1 manastones) and gather things like balaur meat, etc...

And saving kinah for the new items that will be needed too.

But out of the challenging side of leveling up a new craft, i dont see tha recipes/methods it brings will substitute atm the existing mates for normal alchemy where it will be necesary for people doing cooking to the new system (unless you make DP jelly).

But this all is something i figure a bit myself by using google translate after looking at items in the aion powerbook that are still on korean. There is any decent guide around?

And anyone feeling upset about the new crafting system forgot about furniture making? me no haha
